The Phoenix Concert Theatre Toronto, Ontario February 26, 2004 Have I got a story for you about this show! I was one of the lucky people that had VIP passes to this show. Now, you are probably wondering how I got my VIP pass. Well, I didn't. My boyfriend got it for me. The Mix 99.9 was holding a contest to fill the "Great Big Sea Section" of the Phoenix. You had to listen to the radio to find out the "secret location" and then show up at a specific time to win tickets. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, if you live or work near King Street, it probably was. Not so for me. The secret location on the last day of the contest was at King and Parliament at 1 pm. There was no way I could go then. I was a little disappointed, but figured I'd see them another time. Little did I know, my boyfriend had a plot up his sleeve. He went downtown on his lunch break to get me tickets! I was so surprised and very happy! The show was fantastic. I really enjoyed it. The boys played songs that I haven't heard live in a very long time. I was especially happy to hear "Run Run Away". It was terrific. Murray and Kris make great additions to the band. And guess what? Bob actually sang! He sang "Helmuthead" from the new album and a couple of verses of some other songs. I had a great time at the show. My pictures did not turn out all that great. The VIP section was up at the back of the concert hall, so we were pretty far away. But it wasn't crowded and I had a great view. I hope you enjoy these.
